HBB200 Delta B.I.B.S MK II
Lightweight built-in breathing system for hyperbaric chambers.
The Delta MK II BIBS (Built-In Breathing System) provides low work of breathing for therapeutic and emergency use within hyperbaric chambers.
The unit combines a durable advanced polymer body with a removable oro-nasal assembly for individual issue, hygienic change-out and biological decontamination.
Associated supply and exhaust equipment includes pressure regulators, manifold blocks and quick-connect fittings, available separately.
Technical Specifications
- Model: HBB200
- Weight: 1,010 g
- Operating depth: 450 msw
- Work of breathing: Low, assessed using NORSOK U101 guidelines
- Cleaning: Cleaned and prepared for oxygen use
Performance & Testing
The Delta MK II has been independently tested to 450 msw. At a respiratory minute volume (RMV) of 62.5 litres per minute, work of breathing, carbon dioxide levels and respiratory pressures were within preferred limits.
Testing was conducted in accordance with NORSOK U101 guidelines.
Read about C-Tecnics product testing and compliance.
Maintenance & Hygiene
The BIBS is cleaned and prepared for oxygen use, with components degreased, ultrasonically cleaned and assembled in a controlled workshop environment.
The mask should be included within a Planned Maintenance System (PMS). Refer to the product manual for maintenance and cleaning procedures, alongside relevant IMCA guidance, including IMCA D018, Section 5.2.
Associated Equipment
The following equipment is available separately to support Delta BIBS installations in hyperbaric chambers.
Back Pressure Regulator (BPR)
Order code: HBB-301
The C-Tecnics Back Pressure Regulator is a negative-biased, dome-loaded regulator for oxygen breathing gas applications. It protects the diver from excessive negative pressure during exhalation. Positioned inside the chamber, it is normally connected to the BIBS manifold block.
- Maximum pressure rating: 50 bar
- Control range: Up to 30 bar bias
- Bias spring: Up to 3 bar
- Design proof pressure: 150% of maximum working pressure
- Body material: Brass
Oxygen Supply Pressure Regulator
Order code: HBB-300
The C-Tecnics Pressure Regulator reduces oxygen supply pressure from a 200 or 300 bar source to the working pressure required by the Delta BIBS. Adjustment is required during chamber compression and decompression to maintain the required supply pressure relative to chamber pressure.
- Maximum inlet pressure: 300 bar
- Outlet pressure range: Up to 40 bar
- Design proof pressure: 150% of maximum working pressure
- Body material: Brass
Chamber BIBS Manifold Block
Order code: HBB-302
The brass C-Tecnics BIBS Manifold Block accommodates the supply and exhaust quick-connect fittings for two Delta BIBS masks. Additional ports allow multiple blocks to be connected in series and positioned around the chamber where more BIBS masks are required.
Oxygen cleaning is available on request.
Female Quick-Connect Fittings
Chamber-side female quick-connect fittings accept the corresponding male connectors on the Delta BIBS hoses.
- HB-036: Inlet quick-connect with 1/4" NPT connection, to accept the BIBS supply hose
- HB-035: Outlet quick-connect with 3/8" NPT connection, to accept the BIBS exhaust hose
Oxygen Cleaning
Oxygen cleaning of the manifold block and associated components is available on request. Please specify this requirement when ordering.
See the HBB200 Delta BIBS & Accessories datasheet for associated equipment and ordering information.
