C-Tecnics launches Cyclops+: camera, light and depth sensing in one compact unit

We’re pleased to introduce Cyclops+, our new mask-mounted unit combining a low-light underwater camera, LED light and depth sensor for professional divers.

Developed to address the bulk associated with mounting separate cameras and lights to full-face diving masks, Cyclops+ brings three functions together in one low-profile housing.

The compact arrangement keeps imaging, illumination and depth sensing alongside the diver’s mask, reducing the need for separate camera and light assemblies and individual mounting brackets.

A more compact mask-mounted arrangement

Fitting a camera and light to a full-face mask can introduce several separate components, each requiring its own mounting arrangement and connections.

Cyclops+ mounts onto a rail system alongside the mask. The camera and LED light are integrated into the front of the housing, with a built-in depth sensor supplying depth information to a surface system configured for Cyclops+.

The acetal housing measures 91 mm × 29.5 mm × 69.5 mm, excluding the connector, and the complete unit has an operating depth of 100 m.

Connecting the diver to the surface

The combined Cyclops+ umbilical carries video, lighting power, depth sensor signals and diver communications.

The dual-branch arrangement shown in the product datasheet provides separate connections at the diver end for Cyclops+ and C-Tecnics AGA/Divator communications equipment.

An optional Chinese finger strain relief with a loop and carabiner is also available for tethering the cable to the diver’s harness.

Underwater video and surface depth monitoring

The low-light camera provides live underwater video, supported by the integrated LED light. Depth information is displayed in metres to two decimal places through a surface system configured for Cyclops+.

Video capture, communications and depth recording options depend on the selected surface equipment and configuration, allowing our team to discuss the arrangement required for each application.

Two surface system options

Cyclops+ can be used with either a CVN C-Vision Nano Video Capture System or a CV2 C-Vision Video and Communications System, configured for Cyclops+.

C-Vision Nano connects to a suitable customer-supplied laptop or computer for viewing and video capture.

C-Vision provides a complete topside solution with an integrated computer, display and keyboard, together with video and communications functions.
